Torquay Sands Golf Course

[Previous Project] [Back to Projects] [Next Project]

Torquay aerial

This golf course is perched on the coast at Torquay in the Great Ocean Road area.

Australian Ecosystems was contracted to restore extensive wetlands and salt marsh areas.

The plantings and wetlands were designed to remove nutrients, and improve biodiversity, habitat and aesthetic value to the golf course.

Australian Ecosystems collected local seed and cuttings from nearby remnant wetlands and propagated and planted 200,000 plants for this project.

The wetlands augmented extensive terrestrial vegetation performed by Graeme Stockton of West Coast Indigenous Nursery.
