Koolomara Waters

[Previous Project] [Back to Projects] [Next Project]

melaleuca aerial

This project is a wetland treatment system for nutrient filtration and improvement of water quality that diverts, retains and filters peak flows from the nearby Monbulk Creek.

This wetland was also created as a habitat wetland for Platypus in the adjacent Monbulk Creek. Water bodies featured specially constructed steep batters suitable for Platypus to create burrows for shelter and breeding. Australian Ecosystems assisted in the creation of an appropriate species list, and supplied and planted around 300,000 plants for this project, representing around 70 species.
