On the Northern plains of Melbourne, this wetland complex is located on housing estate developed by Stocklands.
The wetland feeds into the Aitken Creek, a subcatchment of the Merri Creek. Australian Ecosystems has supplied and planted around 70,000 locally indigenous aquatic plants with some grass and shrub species.
This wetland complex has large areas of open water, which provides great opportunities for treatment of water through the action of sunlight, as well as establishment of healthy populations of submerged deeper water macrophytes.
