Cairnlea Lakes housing estate, developed by VicUrban, contains a large number of wetlands and waterbodies designed to capture, retain and treat stormwater from the urban catchment.
Australian Ecosystems has collected seed, planted and maintained all the wetlands on this housing project, totalling around 500,000 plants.
A number of these wetlands have supported good populations of Growling Grass Frogs (Litoria raniformis) which have migrated up from the nearby Kororoit Creek.
